62 MPG Goal for the Toyota Prius

At the Washington D.C. auto show, Toyota stated that its Prius model can do 62 mpg. According to Jim Colon, Toyota vice president for product communication, "Whatever goal [the Obama administration] establishes, Toyota will be prepared to meet. If it's 62 miles a gallon, we'll be able to achieve that."

Toyota Claims Prius To Be Best Seller By 2020

After the Toyota Prius posting its best-ever December in 2010, Toyota execs are pledging that their Prius brand or hybrid vehicles will be the best selling cars in America by 2020. In December, the Toyota moved over 15,000 units last month and over 140,000 total units for 2010, or 8% of Toyota's total US sales. That's a 0.9% increase over 2009.
