Car Parts to Know About Right Now

1) Camshaft

Your engine works by using valves that open and close when needed to allow fuel mixture to flow in and out during combustion. The camshaft is the part that makes it happen. They don’t often need to be replaced but could be damaged if your Charlotte Toyota car is having oil level issues.

2) Heater Core

While we don’t often use the heat here in Charlotte outside of the winter months, the heater core maintains heat inside your vehicle’s cabin. This car part is located behind your vehicle’s dashboard.

3) Power Window Switch

If you’re a 90s kid you likely remember the good old fashioned window crank used to open the windows. Luckily, most Charlotte Toyota cars come standard with power windows and this car part is responsible for making that happen. Unfortunately, this part can fail over time due to excessive use and build up of dirt and dust.

4) Wiper Motor

To keep your windshield wipers moving (and keeping you from using a squeegee when it rains) is your wiper motor. If this car part stops working you can kiss you windshield wipers goodbye.

5) Axle or CV Shaft

This Charlotte car part directs power from your differential to your front or rear wheels, depending on the type of drivetrain you have). These parts are protected by rubber boots that can wear out over time and might need to be replaced.

6) Mass Airflow Sensor

Combustion is all about balance and correct proportions. The mass airflow sensor analyzes the amount of air flowing into your engine compartment and communicates with adjacent car parts to determine the amount of fuel that needs to be injected into the engine for combustion.

7) Shock Absorbers

To ensure that you and your passengers are comfortable inside the Charlotte car cabin, your shock absorbers absorb a great amount of impact from bumps and fluctuations in the road.

8) Ignition Coil

Your spark plugs create a spark during ignition and your ignition coil is what sends the necessary voltage.

9) Muffler

If you can imagine what a motorcycle sounds like but with your Charlotte Toyota car instead, then you can understand why a muffler is necessary. This car part quiets the engine and filters out excess operating noise.

10) A/C Compressor

Where would we be without a/c? Your A/C compressor is responsible for keeping your system running properly. If you’re having issues cooling your ride down, this car part may need to be looked at.
