Memorial Day Weekend Festivities
Memorial Day Weekend is finally here! With school ending and the warmer temperatures, it’s the perfect time to light up the grill and catch some rays of sunshine. And, if you want to do some activities around town, then Toyota of N Charlotte has the perfect list for you! We’ve taken the time to gather some fun events happening around you (or close proximity to drive your new Toyota to). Let’s dive in!
Memorial Day Weekend Activities
- Whitewater Center’s Memorial Day Celebration
This event will take place on May 28-29, but the main celebration will be on Sunday. However, on Saturday, you can look forward to a trail race at 9 a.m. followed by some yoga sessions and live music by Craig Waters and the Flood at 7 p.m. On Sunday, yoga will start at 9:30 a.m. and then live music at 6 p.m.
The admission is free but parking is $6.
- Fireworks at Carowinds
The annual fireworks show will continue on May 28 at 8:45 p.m. The fireworks display will be visible throughout the park, but the best viewing locations are the Carolina Boardwalk, County Fair, and Celebration Plaza areas.
- Hendrick Motorsports Fan Fest
Toyota of N Charlotte also found an event happening May 27-29. This will be leading up to the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday. Get ready for driver appearances, car displays, food trucks, kids’ activities, photo opportunities, an engine-building demo, and behind-the-scenes tours!
- Party in the Park
On May 29 from 1-5 p.m., you can come to the Mint Museum! Enjoy an afternoon of live music, a food truck, and a cash bar! This is a free event and grants you access to the museum.
- Time to Shine Pop Up Shop
This is a fun event for the whole family! There will be locally owned businesses, music, craft beer, photo stations, and more! And, the best part is that it’s free to enter! Just make sure you have a designated driver!
- Memorial Weekend Jazz Brunch & Wine Tasting at Morgan Ridge Vineyards
On May 28 you can experience the delicious brunch buffet with five different wines to choose from (and a souvenir glass). There will be an amazing performance by trombonist Buff Dillard and the band! This is a great event to bring the whole family to!
- Memorial Day Murph Challenge
If fitness is your cup of tea, then drop by a local CrossFit box and participate in the grueling Murph Challenge! You can burn off those beer calories with a 2-mile run, 100 pushups, and 300 air squats! We hope to see you there!
