November 19th, 2019 by

As winter approaches us, it’s time to make the changes on your vehicle. Switching your motor oil, tires, etc. All so that your N Charlotte Toyota can handle the cold. You need to make sure that you’re prepared for the winter weather conditions and that your car can keep a grip on the road. Vehicles with AWD can handle the traction but if you’re someone used to N Charlotte Sedans, you didn’t have the option on one with AWD until now! We’re introducing the all new 2020 Toyota Camry with AWD along with the 2021 Toyota Avalon with AWD. These new drivetrains on the aforementioned vehicles will be exclusive and assembled in North America.

Toyota of N Charlotte talks about AWD sedans coming soon.

If you’re not too familiar with what AWD (All-Wheel Drive) is, what it does, and why it’s such a huge deal they made it onto our N Charlotte Toyota sedans, you don’t have to worry. Here’s a mini-crash course.

In Lehman’s terms, AWD is a drivetrain similar to front and rear drive that controls the wheels and distributes power to you car. Front and rear drive only use two wheels when moving your N Charlotte Toyota forward, however, uses all four wheels. Cool thing about it is that this drivetrain can be either part time or full time. Part time AWD means that AWD will activate depending on the terrain your vehicle comes across—if the driver engages in this setting. Full time means that it’s always active and all wheels are being used.

The N Charlotte Toyota Camry and Avalon will be available in this drivetrain beginning early next year. These are a couple of features to be expected in these all new sedans.

  • Both of these sedans will be equipped with dynamic torque control AWD for a variety of trim levels. This option will be available in the LE, XLE, SE, and XSE trim levels for the Camry. As for the Avalon, it’ll be available on the XLE and Limited trim levels.
  • The N Charlotte Camry and Avalon will have a 2.5L DOHC four-cylinder engine with an 8-speed direct shift automatic transmission. The Camry will have 202 horsepower and the Avalon will have 205 horsepower.
  • The Part-time AWD tech will give the models the opportunity to maintain awesome fuel efficiency while still providing grip on the road—with short notice.
