Upgrade Your Car Audio System with These Tips

1) Decide What You Want to Upgrade

Your car audio system is pretty complex and there’s a world of possibilities when it comes to upgrades. Before you purchase your first subwoofer or tweeter, make sure you take stock in what you want to do to your system and what you want it to sound like. Then set up a budget and stick to it!

2) Replace the Infotainment System

While we’re big fans of the Entune infotainment system included in many Charlotte Toyota cars, we understand that people like other interfaces or drive a vehicle with an older version. During your car audio upgrade process you should make sure to replace the infotainment system or head unit. This will help you get the most out of your new sound system and let you take advantage of a wider variety of features.

3) Consider Getting New Speakers

Depending on the car audio system you’re getting into you’ll likely need to upgrade your speakers. New speakers are often needed because you’ll need ones without power to handle the power from any other external audio accessories in your vehicle. Plus they can really improve the car audio sound you get from your new Charlotte system.

4) Up the Power

Like we said, adding new items to your Charlotte car audio system will require more power and accessories to match. An amplifier is always a good idea to add to help designate audio channels and help your system run more efficiently. You should also consider using a subwoofer for deeper bass and more compartmentalized sound distribution.

5) Add and Subwoofer and Designated Amp

Adding a subwoofer to your car audio system can really improve the bassier aspects of your music and shake things up (pun totally intended). Before adding this crucial but large part to your Charlotte Toyota car, make sure you have the space required to house the subwoofer. This will likely eat into your vehicle’s storage space. You should also add a dedicated amp to the subwoofer so it has its own power as opposed to combining everything on one system. This can run the risk of battery drain and inability to use your car audio system.
