Which 2024 Tacoma Engines Are Available? 

If you’re in the market for this new Toyota truck, then you’ll have two 2024 Tacoma engine options to choose from! Below is the 411:

2.4L Turbocharged 4-cylinder. 

The 2024 Tacoma engine boasts 228 horsepower and 243 lb-ft torque on the SR model, and those numbers increase to 278 horsepower and 317 lb-ft torque on all other models.

  • And the reason? This is because the other N Charlotte Toyota models pair this engine with an 8-speed electronically-controlled automatic transmission with intelligence.
  • Plus, you’ll still be able to opt for a 6-speed manual transmission with automatic rev-matching and anti-stall technology. The manual transmission gets 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft torque under the hood!

i-FORCE MAX Hybrid Powertrain. 

This particular 2024 Tacoma engine is the most powerful powertrain available on this new Toyota to date. It has a 2.4L engine with a 48-hp electric motor, as well as an 8-speed transmission. This combination results in a 2024 Tacoma engine that gives 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft torque. Wow!

  • The 2024 Tacoma engine has double the torque output of the 2023 Tacoma V6 engine and can ascend an 8% interstate grade without needing to downshift.

What is the 2024 Tacoma 0-60 mph Time? 

So, now you’re wondering how fast the 2024 Tacoma can go from 0-60 mph. While we don’t have an exact answer for you just yet, we can tell you that the i-FORCE MAX engine under the hood will make it an impressive number. Don’t forget that you’re going to have 465 lb-ft torque to use to your advantage. Thus, the more torque a truck has, then the fast the 2024 Tacoma can go from 0-60 mph.

Can’t quite picture it? We’ve got an example! The 2023 Toyota Tundra has a 3.4L Twin-Turbo V6 engine. There will be a different engine in Tacoma by the way. Despite the size and weight of the truck, this Tundra manages to get from 0-60 in just 5.7 seconds. We’re thinking quite similar (if not faster) figures will apply to the 2024 Tacoma 0-60 mph time.

2024 Toyota Tacoma MPG Estimates 

We don’t have any updates for the 2024 Tacoma MPG estimates either. But, we’re going to look at it in the same way we thought of it in the example above with the Toyota Tundra. The old Toyota Tundra V8 engine had pretty bad fuel efficiency, and introducing the i-FORCE MAX engine bumped it up to 20/24 mpg. Not insanely efficient like a N Charlotte Toyota Prius, but still an improvement from the prior engine.

The current V6 option in the Toyota Tacoma gets 18/22 mpg. We think that pushing a new i-FORCE MAX engine will bump up fuel efficiency further when it comes to 2024 Tacoma MPG estimates.
