5 fun fall things to do in Charlotte this weekend
Fall is in the air! OK, so it’s a little warm here in Charlotte still. However, the first official day of fall (despite the thermometer) is on Monday, and we want to help you get into the spirit of things here at Toyota of N Charlotte. After all, it’s only a few months until the rain and cold set in – why not get out and enjoy the warm weather and sunshine while you can? Check out these five fun fall activities that you and the family can enjoy this weekend.
Fun fall activities that you can enjoy this weekend
#1: Festival in the Park: Freedom Park, free to enter
Hit Freedom Park this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for Festival in the Park! This festival has been around since 1964, marking this year as the 55th anniversary. It’s three days of arts, crafts, music, and other entertainment, as well as family activities to keep EVERYONE occupied no matter their age. You’ll also be able to enjoy a wide variety of concessions (we’re all in for the candied apples and German bratwurst) and there are shuttles to ensure no matter how far you have to park, you’re not too tired to enjoy the day.
#2: Downtown Davidson Fall Arts Crawl, free to enter
Looking for a dose of quaint history while you get your arts fix? Stroll downtown Davidson for their annual Fall Arts Crawl. 40+ artisans will be there to showcase their work, and you’ll find live music as entertainment as well as an interactive kids’ art area where your little ones can channel their inner Picasso. The festival is Saturday only, so don’t miss out – and don’t forget to check out all the local eateries and shops while you’re there.
#3: Lakefront Hops Fest, free to enter
This event takes place from 3-9 pm on Saturday and it’s a great way for you to sample local breweries and eateries as well as support Ace and TJ’s Grin Kids, a non-profit organization that sends terminally ill or chronically disabled children and their families to Disney World. 12 local breweries will be present offering a variety of beers, ciders, and wine; food trucks will also be there, as well as 2 different live bands for entertainment. Remember to line up a DD or an Uber before you go!
#4: Flow Fest, free to enter
Find your inner Zen at Flow Fest, a weekend dedicated to yoga. Flow Fest takes place both Saturday and Sunday and offers you a way to both unwind and reconnect; you’ll find adult, kids, and family yoga sessions up for attendance as well as vendors and live music when the sun goes down.
#5: The Great Pumpkin Fest, Carowinds, tickets start at $29.99
Looking for some family-friendly Halloween fun to get into the spirit of the season? Head over to Carowinds to check out the Great Pumpkin Fest. This fall festival offers hay rides, a hay bale maze, a costume parade, dancing, games, crafts, activity trails, and more… all Peanuts-themed. Plus, there are special shows and experiences, like Count Snooptacula’s Costume Party and the Haunted Homecoming show.
And don’t forget, the best way to kick off fall is in a fresh new ride! Check out the inventory at Toyota of N Charlotte while you’re out and about this weekend – we’re conveniently located just off I-77 at exit 23 in Huntersville at 13429 Statesville Road.
