SEMA 2023 Standout Toyota Highlights
SEMA 2023 came and went in a blink of an eye. This event definitely hit the ground running and made a huge impression on the automotive industry again. Toyota of N Charlotte is here with all of the details that went down at SEMA 2023 and what to expect in the next year. Let’s see what is to come!
Vehicle of the Year Award: Toyota Tacoma
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is a fan-favorite among many people, especially for its head-to-toe redesign inside and out. Also, we’re not the only ones who love this N Charlotte Toyota truck. This off-roading beast was voted the Midsize Truck of the Year Award at SEMA 2023. Finally, this is the third year in a row that this Toyota truck won the Vehicle of the Year Award. And, this year you can look forward to a brand-new appearance, upgraded performance, and incredible new tech inside the cabin.
The Retro Cruiser is a Throwback to the Toyota Land CruiserÂ
At Toyota of N Charlotte, we’re super excited with any information about the new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser, which is heading back to the U.S. market. And, Toyota brought back this baby at SEMA 2023 by showcasing the custom-built Retro Cruiser. This iconic Cruiser concept is built on the same frame as Rod Millen Group’s 1967 FJ45 Land Cruiser Wagon (also called the Retro Cruiser).
What to Expect?
Plus, it has a longer frame (10 inches longer), a modified body, and a new suspension system eared for the most rugged of terrains. Also, it features a 25″ General Tire Grabbers, custom skid plates, and a widened front track. Further, the Retro Cruiser of SEMA 2023 is upgraded with a 100 Series Land Cruiser’s V8 engine, four-speed automatic transmission, and a stainless steel custom exhaust. The interior was upgraded with a satellite phone, navigation, and a 15-gallon onboard water supply.
Toyota Associated Accessory Products ExpansionÂ
At Toyota of N Charlotte, we’ve already talked about the AAP program (aka 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter). These aftermarket accessories and products are being expanded to include add-ons from ARB, Go Rhino, Yakima, and Rigid Industries. So, what does this mean? Well, this means that you’ll have way more options when it comes to Charlotte Toyota auto parts and accessories.
GR86 Cup Car Standing Proud at SEMA 2023
The Toyota Gazoo Racing North America’s Toyota GR Cup Race Series finished up its 2023 season. This allowed amateur drivers the opportunity to compete at racing venues in North America at 14 different events. The GR86 Cup Car was at SEMA 2023, which let fans check out the custom bodywork, carbon rear fiber wing, TRGNA-designed splitter, and interior roll cage in person. If you like racing, then check out the N Charlotte Toyota GR86.
IsoDynamic Performance Seat Simulator Enters SEMA 2023
Another reason why Toyota of N Charlotte is so excited about the new 2024 Tacoma is because of the TRD model. It’s an off-road-ready model that has new IsoDynamic Performance seats that were announced at SEMA 2023. These seats are built to make off-roading as comfortable as possible. Toyota created an arcade-inspired TRD Pro Time Attack video game with simulators so attendees could see just how comfortable the seats actually are. Drivers have to navigate a dynamic high-speed course over Baja-style terrain that’s tough to tackle.
FJ Cruiser Transformed into Rock Crawler for SEMA 2023Â
In addition, the Toyota Land Cruiser is a ride we’re all hyped about. At this year’s SEMA event, they introduced a brand-new rock-crawler concept called the FJ Bruiser. However, it’s loosely based on the 1966 FJ45 pickup truck and has 725 horsepower, a 3-speed race-built transmission, a solid axle, and a transfer case that allows for four 2WD speeds and four 4WD speeds. Also, it has a tank-like track system instead of skid plates, a tube chassis, and a roll cage to give it a more rigid frame.
Brand New TRD Performance Package Power-Up for the Toyota TundraÂ
Additionally, at SEMA 2023, Toyota announced a new TRD performance package for the 2024 Toyota Tundra. The package increases the Tundra’s horsepower to 421 and torque to 479 lb-ft. Also, it increases the airflow to the turbochargers and includes special badging and a custom exhaust tip.
Toyota Tacoma X-Runner Concept Takes Charge
Finally, the last update Toyota of N Charlotte has for our taco enthusiasts is the Toyota Tacoma X-Runner. It’s back in business, y’all! At least in concept form and that counts for something. This N Charlotte Toyota truck is based on the previous X-Runner series that everyone loved and cared for in taco land. This ride has a 3.4L twin-turbo V6 with 421 horsepower and 479 lb-ft torque, a Tundra solid axle, an electronic locking differential, and a custom side exhaust. We’re ready to have this beast at Toyota of N Charlotte!
