The 2025 Toyota Camry has upgraded performance capabilities

The biggest news when it comes to the 2025 Toyota Camry is the fact that it’s going to be hybrid only. Up until now, you’ve been able to take this best-seller home in both hybrid and gasoline options. For the 2025 refresh, Toyota is doing away with the gas models and offering the Camry in a new hybrid configuration only. Here’s what we know about the upgraded drivetrain:

  • It will have a 5th Generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5) under the hood. This means it’ll sport a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine in combination with its electric motors. Further, the electric motors have been designed to be lighter and more compact, which offers a more enhanced performance than previous Camry Hybrids.
  • The new hybrid system also means more horsepower is available to you. The 2025 Toyota Camry gets 232 horsepower, which is 30 more horsepower than the previous mechanical AWD models available for this model.
  • The new hybrid drivetrain – THS 5 – was tuned by Toyota engineers at lower speeds. This reduces engine RPMs and increases power to ensure you get the torque and acceleration you need for an exciting drive time.
  • On top of all of that, the 2025 Toyota Camry will offer a completely retuned suspension. Further, the sport models – SE and XSE – will have a sport-tuned suspension. What does this mean for you? Much better handling and responsiveness no matter which roads you’re tackling.
  • You can pick it up in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive on ALL of the new models. The 2025 Toyota Camry has another update when it comes to AWD, too. It has a new rear electric drive motor generator that will supply power to its back wheels, which means enhanced traction in slippery conditions like rain or snow.

  • It’s also going to showcase slimmer LED lighting in its headlights, daytime running lights, and taillights.
  • There will be two new paint colors – Ocean Gem and Heavy Metal – as well as a new two-tone paint color.
