Updates on the 2020 Toyota Tacoma
America’s best selling mid-size pickup is back for the 2020 model year and it’s better. The Toyota Tacoma has been on top for 13 years in a row, so the 2020 model year obviously has some big shoes to fill, and there’s no doubt that it will succeed! It’ll have new technology, style, comfort, and convenience features making it more competitive and compelling than before! The third generation of this N Charlotte Toyota is inspired by Toyota’s legendary desert race trucks. It’s available in 32 different configurations and the 2020 Tacoma offers models for all seasons. First things first are the obvious upgrades of the 2020:
- New LED Headlamps on the Limited and TRD Models
- Toyota Safety Sense P will be standard on all Toyota Tacoma grades
- Electronically power-adjustable seat is added on V6 Models SR5 and up
- New Multi-Terrain Monitor (MTM) and Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) available on top grades
- Advances multimedia with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa capability
The majority of N Charlotte 2020 Toyota Tacomas will have a new front grille design with the details based on the model grade along with a new taillamp design for all. The SR grade will feature a 7-inch touchscreen display while the rest with have an 8-inch touchscreen. Besides all of the cool multimedia upgrades, the 2020 SR will offer new intermittent windshield wipers and an available LED bed lamp.
As previously mentioned, the 2020 Toyota Tacoma is available in 32 models based on two cab types: the extended Access Cab and four door Double Cab. The extended Access Cab model offers under-seat rear storage space with fold-up seat cushions that’ll maximize carrying space. As for the Double Cab model, it features 60/40 split rear seats with adjustable headrests and undersea storage. Each are available in 4×2 or 4×4 in a variety of model grades.
In terms of power, the N Charlotte 2020 Toyota Tacoma definitely does not lack any. There are two levels of power available. There’s a standard 2.7-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine with VVT-i producing 159 hp and 180 lb/ft of torque. As for the available 3.5-liter V6, it employs Toyota’s innovative VVT-iW technology and Atkinson cycle combustion that’ll make it more efficient. It has an exceptional 278 hp and 265 lb/ft of torque.
Each of the engines can be paired to a 6-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), while the V6 can also be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. When equipped with a tow package, depending on the model grade, the Toyota Tacoma can tow up to 6,800 lbs.
