Back to school: car maintenance checklist

July 21st, 2021 by

August will be here before you know it, and you know what that means! The new school year! After a long, nice summer of gallivanting about, it’s time to round up your school supplies, familiarize your child (or children) with the bus schedule, and perform some car maintenance or an auto service on your Toyota car! It’s best to make sure that your car is ready to tackle your commute, school drop-off, tutoring sessions, and any extracurricular activities! At Toyota of N Charlotte, we know you want the best for your car, that’s why we’ve made a special checklist just for you!

Car maintenance checklist for our Toyota fam

#1 Tackle basic car maintenance.

It’s best to bring your car to our Charlotte Toyota auto service technicians to have a general car maintenance check. We can inspect your car and diagnose any problems that might arise with your vehicle. We suggest having your oil changed and your tires rotated at the very least. However, our Charlotte Toyota auto service technicians can also check all of your fluid levels, change your wiper blades, and double-check your tire pressure.

#2 A clean Toyota car brings good vibes.

Cleaning your car out before the school year begins is a great habit to start! You can declutter your car, place some air fresheners throughout your car to freshen the smell up and do a little vacuum work. However, if you have a super bad stain in your car, just bring it on down to our Charlotte Toyota auto service technicians to tackle! This is one Charlotte Toyota car maintenance hack that is great for everyone!

#3 Stay prepared.

Staying prepared and ready for anything is another great Charlotte Toyota car maintenance tip. It’s always better to be over-prepared, rather than underprepared. You can prepare a safety kit that includes a flashlight, safety gloves, jumper cables, washer fluid, ice scraper, blanket, water, and some non-perishable foods. And, if one of your children is starving after school, you can always bust out the safety kit and give them a “just in case” snack.

#4 Stay organized, ya’ll!

Going back to school means that your Toyota car will have to lug more weight than your typical commute to work every day. If you keep your Toyota car organized, then you’ll be able to locate where your items are very easily. Also, if your car has more weight on one area of the vehicle, then it can damage a single wheel or an axle. Visit our accessory store at our dealership to purchase a cargo organizer!
