It’s officially the holiday season, which means it’s time to get out and celebrate to make the most of it! Toyota of N Charlotte is here with a guide to some of our favorite Christmas 2023 events in the Charlotte area – happy celebrating!

Top Christmas 2023 events in Charlotte to explore this season

Light the Knights Festival and Charlotte Christmas Village: Head down to Truist Field in Charlotte for this holiday spectacular! Through January 1, Truist Field is transformed with an ice skating rink, snow tubing, and an incredible light display. You can also explore vendor booths and food options. Make the most of the season!

Christmas Town USA: Travel to McAdenville through this December 26 for an unbelievable holiday spectacle – Christmastown USA! The town transforms into a Christmas village every holiday season and you’ll be treated to beautiful lights shows, music, and Christmas decorations. Don’t miss the Yule Log Parade on December 14th at 5 pm!

Carolina Holiday Light Spectacular: The Carolina Holiday Light Spectacular is back and will be here for you to get festive through December 30! You can revel in more than one million lights, plus enormous holiday displays, holiday music, and special Christmas-themed treats as you walk the trail behind the beautiful Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte. Admission is only $15 on weekdays (and it’ll likely be less busy then, too!).

Celebration of Lights and Winterland Express: Make your way to Village Park in Kannapolis for this incredible holiday celebration. The Celebration of Lights runs through December 30th and features more than 250,000 lights, holiday displays, marshmallow roasting and s’mores, visits with Santa, and holiday music from the Kannapolis Singing Bears. When you’re done with all of that, hop aboard the Winterland Express to wind your way through the 12 days of Christmas! Park admission and lighting viewing are free, and the Winterland Express is just $2. Don’t miss it!

Winterfest at Carowinds: Carowinds is a blast any time of the year, but especially during the holiday season. It’s touted as the “ultimate holiday celebration in North Carolina” and with good reason – it features ice skating, beautiful holiday decoration displays, millions of twinkling lights, live music and entertainment, and themed food and drink. On top of all that, you can catch the nightly Christmas parade, visit festive gift shops, and get your fill of thrills on Carowind’s exciting coasters. Winterfest runs through January 1, 2024!

US National Whitewater Center Ice Skating: Itching to lace up your skates? Check out the ice skating going on at US National Whitewater Center! The upper pond is transformed into an ice skating rink for the holiday season, and there are also ice trails to explore and two free skate zones decorated for the holidays. The best news yet? If your holiday season is already packed, don’t worry – you can ice skate here through mid-February.

Charlotte Motor Speedway Christmas: Looking for something relaxing to do this holiday season? Hop behind the wheel of your N Charlotte Toyota and head over to the Charlotte Motor Speedway. This drive-through holiday light show is set up along the four-mile course and has over five million Christmas lights and holiday decorations all set to festive Christmas music. When you’re done with your drive, you can enjoy fire pits, hot cocoa, s’mores, watch holiday movies, and even meet the big guy himself – Santa will be there. This event runs through January 7!
